Over the last few weeks a selection of brave and determined Year 8 students have attended the Academy Surf Club. The students completed four sessions at Bigbury Beach and we were very lucky to have great waves every week. Ollie made sure he checked the surf each time and prepared everyone for the demanding conditions.

After many wipeouts we got the hang of it and everyone was catching their own waves and surfing to the beach. Each and every person has shown great perseverance and they have all improved throughout the experience. Some highlights from the sessions have been Martha's epic manoeuvres, Miss Taylor's head stands, Finley's bellyflops and countless party waves.

All the students thought it was great and are looking forward to the School Surf Competition in October.
