Year 8 Netball

On Thursday 6th November, the Year 8 netball team travelled to Churston to play 3 matches. We played against, Churston, Brixham and Stover. Our team tried our best but found it difficult to get away from our markers. However, we all improved on our last game. We focused on moving away from our opponents to get the ball and when defending, marking the ball more. Unfortunately we didn’t score any goals this time, but if we all make sure that when the opposition has the ball we mark our player and that will help us to improve for the next game, which is on December 11th. The Year 7 to 10 netball teams train on Tuesdays after school on the Hard Play Area, next to the basketball training, with some Year 11s coming along to help. Training lasts until 4:30pm and continues throughout the winter. Over 20 students come along regularly but it would still be brilliant to see more coming along. Netball is run by Miss Taylor and Miss Anslow, who take us to our tournaments at various different schools. Report by Eryn Harding, Year 8.
