Mrs S Livesey

Leader of Foundation stage and ks1

In the nursery the children are taught by Mrs Alison Daw Nursery Lead Practitioner. We work as a Foundation Unit joining reception children at certain times throughout the day, with Mrs Livesey Early Years Lead, Mrs Rachel Atterbury Learning Support Assistant and we also have a child care student working with us.

Children in nursery learn through play, and also have a mixture of whole class, small group and individual activities with lots of opportunities to follow their own choice of play.

We have daily Read Write Ink phonics sessions where the children are learning initial sounds, finger gym, music, pen pals for writing, action songs, number rhymes, fun fit and forest school.

They have a range of activities such as, messy play, mud kitchen, sand, water, home corner, book corner, play dough, brick area painting and many more.

Good behaviour is rewarded with stickers and we have a marble jar which when is full they can have a treat!

We aim to develop a love of reading and encourage children to take books home to share with parents.

We plan activities to cover all areas of the Early Years Curriculum and respond to children’s interests.

Parents are welcome any time for a chat or to see what we are learning and can contact me at.
