Visiting theatre company give Year 8 students a chance to reflect on future choices
As part of the Academy's careers programme, Year 8 students were treated to a performance by the Value Theatre Company. Jo and Rachel, actors with the theatre company (with help from one of the Year 8 students), acted out how important it is to do your best in your GCSEs and gave a quick tour of choices that can be made for further education after GCSEs. The humorous performance gave students a chance to reflect on their own possible career choices and provoked them to thinking about such things as the minimum wage related to the cost of living. Students were then given the opportunity to complete a question and answer session with many students asking about university.
