Art Exhibition Another Big Success for Dartmouth Academy
Dartmouth Academy’s annual Art & Design exhibition at the Flavel was ‘again even better than last year’ according to Mrs Perrott. The exhibition, which ran from 3rd - 14th July, featured work from GCSE and A Level students. The work on display showcased the breadth of disciplines supported by the Academy’s Art & Design department, including textiles, sculpture, photography, painting and multimedia work combining a variety of elements of these skills. More than 50 guests, parents, family, staff, governors and friends attended the private viewing for the exhibition on 3rd July Mrs Perrott said she was very proud of the work produced by the students and said the work was “some of the best ever”. “I’m always inspired by the work the students produce,” she said. “But I’ve been really delighted with the dedication, application and imagination these students have shown throughout this year. “The work demonstrates the high levels of creativity and skill from our students and I feel very proud of each and every one. I would like to thank the students, the teachers in the Art & Design Department, Mrs Rowden and Mrs McNiven, as well Tom Dixon and Neil Patey for their help with preparations for the exhibition."
