Introducing Student Achievement Managers at Dartmouth Academy
As parents, you will all be aware that as an academy we are constantly updating and improving the ways we work to ensure that our students become the best that they can be. One of the successes of the Academy is our Personalised Learning Team who support students in their learning, attendance and wellbeing. At the end of last term, due to changes in our support structure it was felt that we would move from House Heads to Year Leaders so that the specialisms each of the staff bring can be focussed on the most suitable year groups. The new team members are known as Student Achievement Managers (SAMs), these are:
Kim Thompson – leading on speech and language – Leader of Years 2,3 and 4.
Mikey Passmore – leading on Maths intervention and Passport Maths – Leader of Years 5 and 6.
Briony Heard – leading on Specific Learning Difficulties – Leader of Years 7 and 8.
Jayne Maddison – leading on Safeguarding – Leader of Years 9 and 10.
Katie Lobb – leading on interventions and support – Leader of Year 11.
Ashley Hunt – transition and year leader support.
With the new team in place I am sure that the students will notice the impact of having designated Year Leaders who will be able to concentrate on the specific issues relevant to where students are in their learning journey.
Students who have worked closely with their House Head before the changes will still have the same point of contact. Please contact any of us if you have concerns or want to share successes with the team.
