Children at Dartmouth Academy are loving playing the maths games on the learning website Sumdog as part of their Maths homelearning. Miss Chivers, Leader for Primary Maths said, ‘Sumdog is a fantastic resource to use in and out of school to develop conceptual understanding and fluency in maths.’ Children can play against classmates or children from another school locally or even nationally. Recently the school has taken part in The Harvest Contest, in which each student who answered 100 questions received an exclusive Myths and Legends outfit for their avatar.
Sumdog champions at the Academy so far have been:
George Guess, Anna Horwood, Kieran Dakin, Jahmarley Remi, Lewis Chalk, Rylee Guess, Daniel Dolphin, Callam Goodhall, Rhys Caple and Michael Davies. Miss Chivers estimates that from the Sumdog champions alone the Academy has answered over 11,500 questions!
