Book Review of the Week:

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

great-gatsby

This powerful book is a book of mystery, love and longing. The story, seen through the eyes of Nick Carraway, is about a man named Jay Gatsby - a man who has everything - and his devastating fixation with seemingly the only thing he can never have. I loved how sensitively the mysteries of their lives unraveled, being fabulously rich and gleaming on the surface but truly being deeply troublesome. You could sense with the language how these lives slowly ruined Nick Carraway. There's nothing negative I could say of the book. It's occasionally vague but this adds to the certain vulnerable way it makes you feel which could never be repeated in any other love story. I recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery or is interested in the variety of post WWI eastern life.
