Changes to roles within the Academy
It is important to us that your questions are answered quickly and effectively and for this to happen you need to know who to contact about your issues. We have had some changes in the past few weeks, following on from the departure of Rik Meek, the key people to contact are listed below, but if your issue is not listed, the staff on Reception will be able to put you through to the relevant person.
For most issues the Form Tutor is the first port of call, or the Class Teacher in the primary phase.
More serious concerns about supporting learning, behaviour or bullying should be raised with the relevant Student Achievement Manager (SAM)
For the Early Years up to Year 4 this is Kim Thompson
Years 5 & 6 – Mikey Passmore
Years 7 & 8 – Briony Heard
Years 9 & 10 – Jayne Maddison
Year 11 – Katie Lobb
Sixth Form – Luke Payne
Academic issues in the secondary phase should be raised with the subject teacher in the first instance and then with the relevant Director of Learning, either Lisa Print or Nicola Perrott.
Special Educational Needs - Simon Wood, or the two Assistant SENCOs; Briony Heard and Katie Lobb
The two Assistant Principals; Matt Bakewell and Andrew Carpenter have academic oversight of standards in the curriculum across the Academy. Andrew manages the GCSE and Sixth Form options process and the curriculum plan.
Nick Bowles, Vice Principal, is responsible for the overall performance of the Primary phase, he is Supported by Kate Taylor, Director of Learning: Spring 2 Gateway.
Nick Hindmarsh, Principal, fulfils the same role for the secondary phase and is, of course, ultimately responsible for everything that takes place in the Academy.
