Local schools meet in Dartmouth for Primary Indoor Athletics Festival

On 15th January, Dartmouth Academy hosted the Primary Indoor Athletics Festival. Children from Dartmouth Academy, Stoke Fleming, Kingswear and St John's Primary schools participated in both track and field events including chest push, long jump, vertical jump, speed bounce, javelin, relays and parlaauf, with 12 students from each school competing.

All events were organised and officiated by the Academy's Sports Leaders and their competence was well recognised by parents and staff. After 2 hours of high quality competition the results were presented by Year 10 Academy student Cameron Webb:

1st - Stoke Fleming

2nd - Dartmouth Academy

3rd - St Johns

4th - Kingswear

The results mean that both the Dartmouth Academy and Stoke Fleming teams (Dartmouth pictured above with their Year 9 Sports Leaders) have been invited to the area final next week at Kingsbridge Community College. We wish them all the very best of luck.
