Alec's swimming success

Year 7 Dartmouth Academy student Alec Farquharson has been competing at the Devon ASA Swimming Championships during January, February and March with great successes. In the middle distance events he made the finals in all his races, finishing with two silver medals in butterfly and a bronze in the 400m individual medley. Last weekend the Sprint Championships were held and Alec finished with two silvers, a bronze and a fourth place in the four 50m races. There were 35 swimmers in Alec's age group. Alec trains with Paignton Swimming Club and Totnes Swimming Club six times a week. He also has land training sessions twice a week. Alec will be putting this training to good effect at forthcoming events at Western-super-Mare and Gloucester in April. He will then be participating in the South West ASA Regional Championships in May where his goal is to make the finals of the 200m and 100m butterfly.
