Academy students get ready for Dart Music Festival
Dartmouth Academy students have been rehearsing furiously once again for the annual Dart Music Festival this coming weekend, (15th-17th May). On Friday 15th May,The festival now in its 18th year, will see Academy pupils and students of all ages perform on stage in front of the crowds in Royal Avenue Gardens. Primary children will be performing alongside other local primary schools at 1:30pm, singing songs including the 'Dartmouth Anthem'. Later, between 4pm and 5:30pm, the Avenue Gardens will see performances from the Academy's Junk Band, Steel Band, Drumline, Year 10 Rock Band and Guitar Ensemble. As well as performances at the festival, Year 7-10 GCSE Music students will be taking part in a Taiko drumming workshop, a fantastic opportunity kindly provided and paid for by the Dart Music Festival committee. The festival promises once again to be an entertaining and fun event and we're delighted that so many students will be participating.
