Visit from Sir David Carter, Regional Schools Commissioner, to Dartmouth Academy
The Regional Schools’ Commissioner, Sir David Carter, visited Dartmouth Academy on Thursday, 7th January, in order to see for himself the progress that the Academy was making since its Inspection. He met with Principal Tina Graham and her Leadership Team and toured the school in order to spend some time in lessons. He was well aware that the Academy is on a journey, and is still in very early days of that journey, but was also very impressed by the fact that the Leadership Team are “doing the right things well”. He particularly commented on the work that the staff in the Academy were doing in partnership with staff at Kingsbridge and the Our School Federation by the close tracking of progress of the students in order to ensure that every single person achieves their full potential, and by the work being done to improve the quality of teaching.
Sir David is now going on to the role of National Schools Commissioner so we felt especially pleased that he made time in his diary to visit us.
