Ready, Set, Row!

During PE lessons this year a focus for students in all year groups has been developing their own personal fitness through a series of different fitness training methods. An element of this training has involved rowing where we have seen a number of school records smashed!
As a result of a number of students have reached a national qualifying standard allowing them to compete in local and regional competitions.
The first such competition was a triple header between Dartmouth,Kingsbridge and Ivybridge. In a tough encounter, pushing students to their limit the PE department were elated with the overall performance by the team, with some excellent personal achievements including: Oliver Smith, 1st Yr10 boys; Owen Elwell, 1st (joint), Yr9 boys; Mayson Elwell, 1st Yr7 boys; Katelin Gordge, 1st Yr7 girls.
The event is the perfect warm up for the regional championships, which will take place at Marjons in March!
