he National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies supports students
The young people of Dartmouth Academy are being supported in the arts by the local branch of the The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies; members of Dartmouth and Kingswear Fine Arts Society have visited Dartmouth Academy a number of times and offered to support groups of students with the purchasing of sketchbooks and mount boards in preparation for their GCSE exams and the forthcoming annual summer exhibition. Sally Walley, the Young Arts representative of DAKFAS, said, “ We support Young Arts in a variety of ways in order to enhance and encourage the appreciation and understanding of art and our artistic heritage. It seems logical that we create links with our local schools to further this aim.” Nicola Perrott, Head of the Art and Design department at the Academy says, “ We are grateful that organisations outside of the Academy are so supportive of the young people of the area. We welcome the support of DAKFAS and are keen to foster further links.”
